International Graduate Scholarship Conference -2007
Washington University in St. Louis, China Scholarship Council, the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and the Responsive Ph.D. Group are pleased to announce the third annual International Graduate Scholarship Conference, which will be held on September 21-22, 2007 in Wuhan, China.
Washington University in St. Louis is a founding member of the Responsive Ph.D. Group. This group of leading U.S.A. research universities. was convened by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. The members of this group that plan to attend include some of the largest and most distinguished U.S.A. research universities.
Together, these universities provide over $100 million annually in scholarships and fellowships to graduates of China's most prestigious institutions of higher education for postgraduate study in the U.S.A. While in the U.S.A., these students earn Ph.D.’s and other advanced degrees, and enter the work force with skills that are vital for increasing world prosperity.
We recognize the superb training many Chinese students receive in China's great universities, and we want to encourage these graduates to apply for the many advanced scholarships and fellowships currently available in the U.S.A. and for fe1lowship support from the China Scholarship Council. To explore ways to bring this about, we are again convening this International Graduate Scholarship Conference. We are inviting 49 leading educational and research institutions in China (the "GSP" universities designated by the China Scholarship Council) to join with us to explore opportunities of mutual benefit. This will be an enhanced version of similar conferences held in Beijing in October 2005 and Shanghai in October 2006.
